European and International Business Law Summer School


The objective of the European and International Business Law Summer School Program is to prepare highly qualified business law specialists, who are able to provide legal advice to the transnational and European business environment, to explain the latest business law issues and trends, to analyze and assess business-related legal situations, promptly and effectively deal with the legal problems facing businesses, conduct research and provide suggestions for the law-maker regarding the improvement of business environment regulation.

  • Dates : from 1 July to 14 July 2019
  • Eligibility : the Summer School Program targets anyone with a decent legal background and is an introduction course to the European Law system. No legal expertise required.
  • Course contents : The European and International Business Law Study Program consists of :
    •  Principles and mechanics of business contract law (8h)
    • Fundamentals of EU law (8h)
    • E-commerce law & intellectual property (8h)
    • Settling international litigations via arbitration (8h)
    • Multinationals and cross-border partnerships (8h)
    • International tax system: transfer pricing (8h)
    • Teaching : In English exclusively.
  • Hotel accommodation : Hotel du Helder - http://hotel-helder.fr/en/
    The hotel is very close to the faculty.
  • Cost : 2000 € per person.
    This includes : course tuition fees, hotel accommodation (from June 30th to July 13th 2019 inclusive), breakfast, lunch, airport pickup (on June, 30th), group assistant fees, welcoming and closing banquets and entrance fees to several tourist attractions in Lyon, trip to Annecy (subject to change).
    This does not include: airfare to Lyon, French visa, medical insurance and the meals not otherwise covered by the program. Dinners are not included.
University Lumière Lyon 2 reserves the right to cancel the Summer school program if there are not enough participants or for any other circumstances beyond its control.

All participants must submit proof of travel insurance coverage for the duration of their stay in France.
Opportunities for participants to organize trips (additional costs borne by participants): Paris, Geneva, Nice, Barcelona, Brussels, Strasbourg, Milan …
  • Participation certificate : Each participant will receive an official certificate of participation.
  • Final registration depends :
    on signing the participant's contract, registration form and producing proof of travel insurance coverage (or any insurance coverage deemed equivalent) for the duration of the stay.
    an international transfer of EUR 2000 (see banking information annexed to the participant's contract) on April 30th, 2019 (midnight) at the latest. A copy of the transfer receipt will have to be sent.

  • Any delay or failure to produce any of the aforementioned documents shall invalidate the participant’s registration.
